WAKE UP SID
A spoiled young adult living in Mumbai experiences a change in his lazy ways when he meets a woman at a party, who inspires him to "wake up".
Classic chick flicks can never go wrong.
Wake up Sid is a classic to 2000's kids, that dreamed of adulthood, and then stopped, considering all the responsibilities that come with it (yes, like high school musical). Wake up Sid is not to be watched for acting, or choreography or casting or anything technical. But for complete fun and leisure.
We are all progressing and evolving as individuals every day. We might not even recognize ourselves if we met our younger versions. I know I would not. Things change as we all grow up. We mature, we think more now (unfortunately), we dream less, we do not believe in things as much, we frown more than smile. That is the sad course of life we are on. Some of us do not want to accept adulthood or the burdens that come with it and refuse from moving on. Understandably so. Growing up is terrifying, and to think that as a kid that was all we ever wanted. What a pathetic childhood. I know for sure that I am scared of where I will be 10 years from now. I ponder about it a lot. Will I be living with my parents? Will I have a stable career? Will I be married?
But then, these questions, the doubts, these uncertainties are what make life so exciting. Without them imagine how glum and dull the world will seem. To think that we have adventures that await us at every corner makes my heart beat quicker. The thrill of life is when we learn that every cloud has a silver lining. Growing up has its bad days, people expect so much more from you. Closest example, this very blog. I cannot just write what a child might think when in reality that may be the course my mind often takes, for then this blog will not be taken seriously. However, if I never started writing about the thing I enjoy the most, watching movies, then I would not have learnt so much from it and appreciate it more. Think about how many things may come off as too much of a burden but in the end makes us better people without even us realizing.
Even as adults, we should never forget the inner child inside us. That child makes us do crazy things and have insane thoughts but that's the fun in this short life we are blessed with. Have a balance between both mentalities, and I assure you, you will wake up each day with a smile.
So, to sum it up, this is a great movie. Not to be looked at in a professional point of view, but a more emotional one. Time never waits for anyone, but we do not need it to if we make the most of every second we have.
